About Our Partner Scott Griggs:
Intellectual Property and Technology Expertise

As a partner in our firm, Scott Griggs is dedicated to managing a comprehensive range of intellectual property and technology matters. His experience with the United States Patent & Trademark Office spans patent preparation and prosecution, trademark registration acquisition, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Scott possesses a broad technology background with expertise in computer hardware architectures and systems, computer software-related inventions, optics and lighting systems, telecommunications, radar systems, consumer electronics, medical devices, chemical technologies, and mechanical arts, including equipment for downhole oil and gas well production.

 

Scott also focuses on evaluating and protecting intellectual property assets and developing portfolio management strategies to help companies protect core technologies and enhance overall intellectual property positions. He counsels clients with respect to arbitration proceedings under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, technology searching and novelty opinions, patent validity and infringement opinions, and the acquisition of foreign patents and trademarks, as well as medical device law with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

 

In addition, Scott's practice includes services supporting and monetizing technology, such as licensing agreements, assignment and transfer of rights agreements, technology development agreements, end-user license agreements, Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), website/mobile app privacy policies & terms of use, and intellectual property due diligence for acquisitions, sales, and investments.
